Manchester United is facing a daunting task on the road against Galatasaray. If they lose, their best chance of qualifying for the Europa League at the start of next season is gone.
Erik ten Hag is undoubtedly under pressure. The last several games have seen the boys play better, but a larger sample size is still required. This seems like the perfect chance to maintain the upward momentum.
It is not going to be simple to defeat Galatasaray. That was evident in the home leg. Since they’re a team that doesn’t mind taking chances, the boys wearing United’s colors will need to show true bravery.
Well, the squad news is finally out. The team has confirmed that a 22-man party, including two players who will make their ιnjury comebacks—Antony and Rasmus Hojlund—will go to Turkey for the match. Both were saw returning to their training early today.
Marcus Rashford’s ban here makes their respective returns appropriate. Seeing young people like Joe Hugill, Kobbie Mainoo, and Dan Gore among the group is also pleasing. It will be the first time they experience that crаzy Turkish environment.
Even though midfield is now playing itself, I’m still concerned about the lack of depth there, at least until players like Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, and Casemiro return.
Additionally, the team appears to be lacking in depth in this last third. While Hojlund is poised and eager to play, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial will be exuberant. But at this point, I don’t think much of the other possibilities.
