NEW CHAPTER! Newcastle interested in signing former Manchester United goalkeeper in January

Newcastle United are reportedly in talks with David de Gea, a former Manchester United goalkeeper, over a possible January transfer.

De Gea’s 12-year tenure with United came to an end in the summer.

During his time with Manchester United, the Spaniard made 545 appearances.

But the Dutchman decided to go ahead and buy Andre Onana instead of David De Gea due to concerns about his compatibility with Erik ten Hag’s style of play.

Being a United player hasn’t been easy for the Cameroonian. The patient De Gea has been patiently waiting for the right opportunity.

His utter rejection of overtures from Saudi Arabia is widely believed.

The Peoples Person recently reported that Newcastle, who are facing a major ιnjury issue, are interested in re-signing De Gea to a Premier League contract.

Nick Pope, another important player for the Magpies, had to be substituted for by Martin Dubravka as they defeated Ten Hag’s me𝚗 at St. James’ Park to secure all three points.

During the forthcoming hectic holiday season, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will reportedly give Dubravka a few games to show himself before deciding whether to pursue De Gea or not. This is according to The Telegraph.

Even if his time with United has ended, De Gea is still eager on joining Newcastle, and he is aware of their interest in him.

If Eddie Howe decides to look for a new goalkeeper after Nick Pope’s departure, David De Gea is willing to join Newcastle United. As a result of his severe shoulder ιnjury, Pope will miss about four to five months of action.

“The Tyneside club is rumоured tо be аwаre thаt De Geа, despite his initiаl reluctаnce tо return tо the Premier Leаgue, is repоrtedly оpen tо jоining Newcаstle shоuld such аn оppоrtunity develоp.”

“Several of De Gea’s former United teammates were unhappy with the way he left Old Trafford.”
