If Sancho departs in January, Man United ‘will be offered’ Dutch winger ‘Robben 2.0’ valued at £60m

According to sources, Manchester United might take use of their newfound partnership with an agency to get a replacement for Jadon Sancho, valued at £60 million, and ruin Real Madrid’s plans at the same time.

Old Trafford has not yet thawed Sancho, who is 23 years old. The England international winger may depart the club as soon as next month due to their unresolved issue with Erik ten Hag.

A number of clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and Saudi Arabian clubs, have expressed interest in the gifted wide receiver.

In a two-team transaction involving Donny van de Beek, TEAMtalk learned exclusively on November 30 that Juventus may sign Sancho.

After the Dutchman had a bad run at Old Trafford and fell short of expectations, he was told he could leave.

Sancho, meanwhile, has proven himself adept at Dortmund during his sensational run there from 2017 to 2018.

Man Utd would rather sell outright, but Dortmund would likely approach through the loan route, just like Juventus.

Football Transfers, an online publication, claims that the Red Devils will be given a tempting replacement if United decide to move Sancho during the winter transfer window.

Dortmund are reportedly “open to offers” for forward Donyell Malen, and Manchester United “will be offered” his services.

Agency relationship can help Manchester United’s cause

This season, the 24-year-old Dutchman has been an integral part of Dortmund’s offense, contributing two assists and five goals in all competitions.

Although Dortmund supposedly wouldn’t bat an eye if they could make a significant profit, the right-footed player has been a mainstay in the starting lineup this season.

Selling Malen for £60 million would more than quadruple Dortmund’s investment; he cost £25 million when Dortmund signed him in 2021 from PSV Eindhoven.

Whether United would offer Malen a permanent deal or a loan with a buyout option or obligation was not specified in the article.

That United’s relationship with the SEG agency is just starting to take off suggests that this might be the catalyst for the departure.

Malen was officially signed by the SEG group in late November, according to Fabrizio Romano. This is the same agency who facilitated Ten Hag’s transfer from Ajax to Manchester United.

The SEG also includes Rasmus Hojlund and loanee Sofyan Amrabat.

Real Madrid is reportedly interested in signing Malen, as reported exclusively by TEAMtalk on December 1. Several elite English clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on the Dutchman as well.

Supposedly, if Dortmund made it to the Champions League quarterfinals, no contender would be able to pull off a January swoop.

Now that Dortmund have secured their spot in the next round of the competition, a summer transfer seems highly probable.

Still, if Football Transfers is to be believed, Malen might get an offer six months in advance, and if Sancho departs, Old Trafford will be without a wide receiver.
