Ex-Man Utd star Jesse Lingard still on the hᴜnt for a new club as he posts a workout montage to social media

As he keeps searching for a new club, Jesse Lingard has shared an update on his fitness.

After a poor season in which he failed to score or assist in 17 Premier League games for Nottingham Forest, the 30-year-old is currently a free agent.

After spending eleven years with his childhood club, Manchester United, Lingard had a fantastic loan stint with West Ham United in the second part of the 2020–21 season.

Still, he hasn’t found a club despite summer training with the Hammers and a month with Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ettifaq.

Also, on Thursday night, the midfielder posted an Instagram video of himself doing a variety of drills and exercises in training.

The video ended with Lingard exclaiming, “Working baby,” as he appeared to be well-coached by an unseen figure.

After scoring in his maiden game for Al-Ettifaq, a friendly against Al-Khaldiya, just four minutes into the match, he was considered a strong candidate for a contract.

Nonetheless, he did not get a contract and departed the club at the month’s end in October.

While in Miami for training in July, Lingard was also said to be considering a transfer to the Major League Soccer.

In September, Mail Sport revealed that West Ham spent thousands of pounds on Lingard’s trial, which included paying for his housing and transportation while he trained with the team.

After Lingard pled guilty to failing to identify the driver of his car that was caught speeding last year, he was handed a six-month driving ban earlier this summer. West Ham reportedly arranged transportation for him and kept him up in a hotel for a few weeks.

Lingard trained for almost six weeks with West Ham before to his miserable stint at Al-Ettifaq.

With 32 caps for England and a history of being a favorite of Gareth Southgate, Lingard has also played for Leicester City, Birmingham, Brighton, and Derby during his time on loan at Old Trafford. However, he has not made an appearance for the Three Lions since 2021.
