Jonathan Tah set to turn down move to Chelsea to remain at Bayern Leverkusen

27-year-old centre-back hopeful of ‘2024 Euros berth’ set to snub Chelsea switch

Jonathan Tah intends to decline a transfer to Chelsea in order to stay at Bayern Leverkusen. The center defender is anticipated to turn down both Manchester United and Chelsea in favor of staying at Bayern Leverkusen come January, according to Metro, which reports that the center-back’s pursuit of the player stalls.Midway through the season, the German team is expected to turn down offers from both clubs, but Tah is certain he wants to stay with the team despite a lot of attention. After eight years at Leverkusen, the 27-year-old is eager for his team to win trophies under Spanish manager Alonso. Chelsea, West Ham, United, and Newcastle United are among the teams that are interested in him after seeing his performance. However, they are all prepared to be rejected if the player chooses to stay with the German team.

To be honest, Tah isn’t our ideal defender, and it seems unlikely that he will perform to the best of his abilities in the Premier League. Despite his age of 27 and significant experience, he has received criticism for his performance. Just because someone has a legitimate release clause does not mean that we should automatically go for them. Although his performance needs to be assessed, further pursuit of him is not warranted.
