Man Utd’s 3-0 loss to Bournemouth was Erik ten Hag’s doing, and he’s still mad over his players’ ‘very disappointing’ inconsistency

Erik ten Hag took full responsibility for Manchester United’s most recent humiliating loss and acknowledged that his team just isn’t talented enough to win games consistently.

Bournemouth upset United at Old Trafford en route to a 3-0 victory, United’s eleventh loss in 23 games this season.

Just three days after completely dominating Chelsea, Ten Hag’s squad was once again undone by a sluggish start.

“I believe we have to always be ready for the game, and so I have to take the responsibility for that,” the United boss stated.

Getting the squad ready for the game is my responsibility. The way we began is really disappointing to me. Definitely irritated. I was hoping for a different outcome.

I was hoping we might improve upon Chelsea’s performance and outcome going into the game, so this is really disheartening. Our consistency is lacking. Every game and every three days, you must do it, but we have the ability to accomplish it.

The team as a whole needs to step up and become more resilient. We need to start the game prepared. Everyone in this league dies if they aren’t playing at their peak level.

I want you to start off on the right foot and give it your all. That your opponent is more enthusiastic than you is impossible. Those kinds of slip-ups won’t work at this level; your opponents will capitalize on them. That is what transpired; you cannot turn off. We need to address that issue if we wish to achieve success. Consistency is key if you want to accomplish your goals.

I can empathize with the dissatisfaction and annoyance felt by the fans. We ought to be doing better, so here we are too. We can’t have such a large disparity in levels; we have to showcase it in every game.

Bruno Fernandes, United’s captain, conceded that his team couldn’t handle Bournemouth’s level of play. The Portugal star was sent off for dissent after getting a booking in the last moments of the match; he will miss next weekend’s match against Liverpool at Anfield as a result.

We weren’t as intense as they were. From what Fernandes could tell, their desire for it was greater. They were rightfully punished. We ought to have done far better.

We were not prepared for the level of intensity in their game, and our underperformance in our levels is the reason we did not achieve our goal.

Evidently, we aren’t consistent enough.

I feel that we had some great results last season, especially in the Premier League, but it isn’t good enough.

You must do it every three days if you aspire to be among the top scorers. I can already tell that will be difficult.

You need to be more consistent in all that you do since every squad plays terrific football, is intense, and has qualities.

The audience is unaccustomed to this. They would rather not be in this predicament.

‘We empathize with their complaints; we certainly did not want to be in this position either.’

Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing, and Marcos Senesi scored for Bournemouth, giving them their first victory at Old Trafford.

Andoni Iraola’s team had two goals disallowed and Solanke struck the post, so the margin of victory could have been even wider.

For Solanke, who has scored nine goals so far this season, “to win away at Old Trafford is magnificent,” he exclaimed.

The boys are overjoyed to be here and get a victory in one of the world’s top stadiums, played by one of the top clubs.

It’s tempting to feel intimidated here, but we managed to keep our cool. Right now, we’re confident in our abilities and it showed.

With one tie, Bournemouth has won four of their past five games.

Similar to his 2012 Europa League triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford with Athletic Bilbao, this was a major accomplishment for Iraola.

“You have to enjoy itā€”it is a great result and great performance,” the Bournemouth head stated.

We understood it would be difficult to contain their front threeā€”they’re on a tremendous runā€”but we also knew there would be opportunities to capitalize on the holes we found, Iraola explained.

It was a well-deserved victory since “everyone played really well.”
