Klopp on Chelsea beating Liverpool to Caicedo & Lavia: ‘God, we were lucky’
Moises Caicedo and Lucas Lavia were criticized by Jurgen Klopp for selecting Chelsea over Liverpool during the summer.
“We had some weird things happen to us in the transfer market over the summer, but overall, I can honestly say that we were very fortunate,” he remarked. Although we were unaware of it at the time, I’m glad things turned out the way they did.
“It is evident that defensive midfielders are reluctant to join Liverpool, as we discovered during the summer, and the rest is history.”
The beginning of Caicedo and Lavia’s existence at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone quite as expected. Lavia is still dealing with an ailment, while Caicedo isn’t playing well.
Furthermore, Chelsea is positioned in the lower half of the Premier League, while Liverpool leads the table.
