Tom Holland became very well-known for playing Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Additionally, he took part in Avengers: Endgame, one of the MCU’s major events, figҺting alongside Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, his mentor. The former had previously discussed collaborating with another MCU actor, but the latter had already shown his mettle through his versatility. Charlie Cox previously gave Holland high marks for his acting abilities in general.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cox and Holland’s third Spider-Man film, they collaborated previously. Even though the latter made a brief cameo, it was plenty to demonstrate his talent, which pleased his co-star as well.
Tom Holland’s Statement About Collaborating With Charlie Cox
The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Tom Holland, who plays Charlie Cox in Spider-Man: No Way Home, last year about his experience filming the film alongside his co-star. “Working with Charlie was incredibly exciting,” he revealed. He’s an amazing actor, and I loved the Daredevil series a lot.
In the film, Cox played Matt Murdock/Daredevil again, and the fan base was undoubtedly thrilled by his brief cameo. The Crowded Room actor continued,
“He did a fantastic job with that role, and even though it was a brief appearance, it clearly hinted at what would come next. That sequence was a true actors’ piece. We read the lines while blocking the scene, which was basically just the two of us sitting there.
He went on,
It was excellent. Working alongside individuals I really look up to was like being in an actors’ workshop, and Charlie was a lot of fun. It was extremely great to watch him transform back into a persona that, obviously, he loves and of whom I am a big fan.
Holland is a Daredevil fan as well, so working alongside the actor added an extra layer of excitement to the project. The actor who plays the webslinger also expressed hope for a future working together, citing the character’s immense potential.
As he watched the Iron Man actor’s box office failure, Dolittle, he also appeared to have developed a closer relationship with his mentor from off-screen roles, Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. Is Highly Respected by Tom Holland
It’s not unusual for performers to become friendships while collaborating on a set. On screen, though, Holland and Downey Jr. have a wonderful relationship. Even though the latter’s character has been retired, he continued to pursue acting by taking on a variety of different roles.
This is his debut movie as a superhero after years of not wearing one. It’s called Dolittle. But in the end, the film was a box office flop, reportedly losing between $50 and $100 million. Even more, it received six Golden Raspberry Award nominations, including one for Worst Picture. That didn’t stop his junior from wanting to see the film, though. Holland does, after all, genuinely love and respect his master.
