Replacing McTominay, Man Utd considering a transfer for Everton’s Amadou Onana

Footballers from Everton, Amadou Onana, are being tracked by Manchester United.

The middle of Manchester United’s defense has changed this year. Maybe injuries are to blame. Perhaps Casemiro is now entering his twilight years. Maybe it’s because United haven’t been consistent in that part of the field.

Recent efforts by Erik ten Hag have helped to steady the ship, and a scoreless draw against Liverpool would be great for morale. While Kobbie Mainoo’s arrival has been helpful, it would be unfair to put the entire burden on a teenager.

So, it’s not surprising that United has been connected to a move to sign a new midfielder, potentially as soon as January.

United is reportedly interested in Amadou Onana, according to Foot Mercato, but they will have to overcome stiff competition from FC Barcelona to sign him.

The 22-year-old midfielder might leave Everton either the summer or January transfer window, but according to the source, United are planning to sign him.

Barça have already met with the player’s entourage, putting United behind, while Everton are requesting a sum of £47–£52 million to release their lively midfielder.

Against Manchester United in last season’s Premier League match at Goodison Park, Onana was superb; he has continued his good play for Everton this year.

The Belgian would undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to the Reds if a deal were to go through, but I’d be astonished if they did it in January given that they won’t have much money until at least the summer.

I’m crossing my fingers that Everton holds on to Onana until the season ends so we can have a shot at winning this transfer wаr.
