CONGRATULATIONS: Donny van de Beek ‘finishes his medical ahead of his loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt,’ according to Man United

Midfielder Donny van de Beek, who is supposedly set to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Manchester United, has supposedly finished his physical.

According to Mail Sport, the Dutchman is scheduled to have his medical exams this week. He will be leaving Old Trafford till the end of the season. In the summer, Frankfurt will have the option to permanently acquire Van De Beek for £13 million.

Florian Plettenberg of Bild reports that Van De Beek had passed his medical exam without any complications.

According to him, United and Frankfurt still have “a few small details” to work out, but they shouldn’t have any problems, and the Bundesliga club is hoping to announce the signing of the ex-Ajax midfielder this week.

United have only used Van De Beek twice this season as a substitute, and his miserable tenure with the club under Erik ten Hag has only continued.

United signed the 26-year-old midfielder for £40 million in 2020 hoping he would replicate his success from his time at Ajax. However, he has failed to live up to expectations in the Premier League.

Even though he’s been with United for almost three years, he’s only played in 62 games and scored twice.

In January of 2022, Van De Beek was loaned to Everton. However, he failed to regain his form during his time at the club, making just seven appearances before making his way back to United.

Since he and Ten Hag had a good working relationship at Ajax, fans were hoping for more playing time for Van De Beek under the Dutch manager, but he has been hesitant to deploy him for the past 18 months.

In November, Van De Beek acknowledged that he was prepared to depart from the Red Devils in pursuit of consistent first-team football, having fallen even farther down the hierarchy in the preceding months.

Now it appears like Frankfurt will give him that chance. Tonight, Frankfurt plays Borussia Monchengladbach in their last game before the Bundesliga winter break.

The team will be back in action on January 13 when they travel to RB Leipzig. This might be Van De Beek’s debut game.
