‘Significantly more hate’ – Reece James sends emotional message after surgery on injury

Reece James sends emotional message after surgery on injury – “Significantly more hate”. As he prepares for yet another extended period of time on the sidelines, Chelsea captain Reece James underwent surgery and has subsequently shared an update on his experience on Instagram.

Right-back for ChelseaReece James updated his fans on social media about his operation after suffering a hamstring strain.

The Blues captain has had difficulty staying healthy on a regular basis and was further aggravated by Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park earlier this month. This is the first time James has needed surgery, despite ongoing injury problems.

James chose to inform his millions of Instagram followers about his health status after undergoing surgery. “The footballing world knew I got injured but the procedure I would go down this time took slightly longer to figure out the best solution,” the 24-year-old England international wrote when he published a photo of himself in a hospital bed.

“To try to resolve my recurring hamstring problem, I had surgery today. The physical and psychological rehabilitation process has begun. I’ve had a lot of support since this injury, but far more hate and vitriol.

“Believe me, I want to play football and I don’t want to get hurt.” It means a lot that I have kind friends who stand by me through both my highs and lows. Reece, stay well.”

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino acknowledged that the team was considering all of their options before to the procedure. He also discussed how tough James and others close to him have been hit with this most recent setback.

Reece James will be sidelined for the upcoming few months following hamstring surgery.

“We are all now thinking how we are going to approach the situation and trying to find maybe different solutions, different strategies,” he said. “I would rather not discuss this too much because I am aware of how miserable he and his family are in this circumstance, which is not pleasant.

“He was so excited to be back again and to be fit to help the team in this situation and, yes, we need to be cautious in the way we talk.”

James has just once in his Chelsea career made more than thirty league appearances in a single season. At only 24, the right-back has plenty of time to turn things around, but his biggest barrier to a successful Blues tenure will undoubtedly be his ongoing injury problems.
