United suffer eighth Premier League loss of season at hands of West Ham United 2-0; Erik ten Hag’s misery continues as Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus score in the second half to put the struggling Red Devils out of contention.
At the London Stadium, West Ham played a flawless game, thus it would be unjust to focus on Manchester United’s many flaws.
Rest assured, it remаins how it is. In what ways may this continue? I don’t know how much longer United can be disorganized. Very dark. Once more. FigҺt to the deаth, clinch your fists and swing your arms if you must lose.
Not in this way. Deplorable, feeble, and miserable. It isn’t this, whatever it is that Manchester United stands for. A once-proud club with a long history of glory is now in a precarious position.
George Best, Dennis Law, Ryan Giggs, and Eric Cantona all had оffensive flair before this. That’s more than six hours of football—three hundred and eighty-one minutes—without scoring. Failure to preserve the club’s legacies is heartbreaking to witness.
It was right that West Ham won this game. They had practiced, rehearsed, and planned ahead. They were far from it. Those are Ten Hag’s.
Even if Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus were the ones who caused the damage, that isn’t the whole story. A lack of attacking zeal and skill led to United’s thirteenth loss of a disastrоus season.
United will be extremely nervous about their next match against Aston Villa. Ten Hag might bring up extenuating conditions, the academy’s output Willy Kambwala, a 19-year-old who became the 248th graduate of United’s development setup, was pushed into the thick of things during a central defense selection problem. Erik ten Hag was unable to choose Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, or Victor Lindelof owing to various maladies.
That, however, is an inadequate justification; the adolescent appeared at ease in his Premier League debut. To be fair, following a forgettable first half, that was true for both defenses.
Occasionally dull, scrappy, and cagey. The ferocity with which West Ham began the game was impressive, but they failed to create any scoring opportunities.
Compared to United, who lacked both intensity and quality in the first half, that was a significant improvement. Their pace was leisurely; it was a delight to read.
United didn’t have their first shot on goal until the 33rd minute, and Antony’s weak curling effort from long range was comfortably saved by Alphonse Areоla. To be fair, Ten Hag’s squad did show signs of improvement in the second half.
With just Areоla to beаt, Alejandro Garnacho wasted the first half’s greatest opportunity. Just before halftime, the Hammers goalie almost let Kobbie Mainoo score his first senior goal with a poor attempt that was perhaps questionable.
There was some optimism for Ten Hag near the end of the half, but it was only fleeting. United have gone seven consecutive halftimes scoreless since Simon Hooper blew the halftime whistle. The current situation is unfortunate.
The traveling support, as is customary, maintained a harmonious tone. It must be exhausting for them to keep their spirits up right now. Positively, Kambwala came into senior football with grace, and Mainoo, another adolescent, kept defying logic in the middle of United’s midfield.
After the break, West Ham created their first real chance when, in the 56th minute, James Ward-Prowse sent in a precise corner, and Andre Onana saved Jarrod Bowen’s header from going over the bar.
Just one minute later, Ten Hag brought on England international Marcus Rashford to replace Rasmus Hojland, who has yet to find the back of the net since joining the club from Atalanta for £72 million. In Hojland, you can find a participant. However, playing center forward for this squad is no longer an honor.
After a dangerous low cross from Luke Shaw found his Argentinian colleague Garnacho waiting at the back post in the 70th minute, Kurt Zouma made a last-ditch block to save a certain score. United had no idea that their entire world was about to crumble at that moment.
Ultimately, it was Lucas Paqueta’s deft scooped pass into Bowen’s path that let the door open, leaving United’s defense bewildered. After Onana saved Bowen’s first shot, the rebound went off the West Ham forward and into the net, adding an element of luck to his finish.
Nobody in the claret and blue team gave a hoot about how the goal was scored. In a state of pure bliss, Moyes clinched his hands.
