This is the time of year when soccer players from Europe go on vacation. For some of them, it means traveling to the US to watch some of the best non-soccer sporting events.
similar to Gio Reyna, who showed up on Friday night at a Brooklyn Nets game. Or Eduardo Camavinga, who went to a LA Rams-Saints game and decided to watch some American football instead.
Los Angeles and Brooklyn are good places to spend some leisure time, but if you know ball like Vincius Jr., you know there are better places to go.
For example, Oklahoma City and Sacramento, which are home to two of the NBA’s hottest teams, are great places to go on vacation for basketball enthusiasts who want to go away from the typical tourist route.
The superstar of Real Madrid was present at the Oklahoma City Thunder’s home game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the star of Thunder, and Vinícius Jr. are close friends. In May, the all-NBA guard went to Madrid to witness the Brazilian play in the Champions League semifinals.
If the Vini-SGA friendship made that excursion make sense, the destination the next night was less clear. Vinícius Jr. made an appearance in Sacramento to see the Kings play the Phoenix Suns. His attendance was verified when he was shown on the scoreboard wearing a Kings jersey and sitting next to Vlade Divac, the legendary player for the Kings.
It’s likely that Vini was visiting a friend who plays for the Kings or Suns because he is well known to be friends with a lot of other famous players. Nonetheless, we would prefer to believe that Vini’s visit to Northern California was just a case of him having the right stuff because the Kings are also one of the young teams in the Western Conference, including players like De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
On Saturday, Vini resumed his NBA trip in Los Angeles, where he met Camavinga and watched the LA Clippers take on the Boston Celtics. Los Angeles is a more conventional destination for celebrity vacationers.
