Chelsea ‘willing to pay’ €60m for signing – Club ‘want to close’ sale as soon as possible
On November 23rd, Mundo Deportivo reported that Chelsea is among the clubs vying to secure the promising talent of Estevão Willian, often regarded as a “great pearl.” Earlier this month, Goal Brasil revealed that talks have commenced between Chelsea and Palmeiras regarding the acquisition of the young star.
The race for the 16-year-old’s signature includes Chelsea, Barcelona, and other interested parties, with Mundo Deportivo providing the latest updates on his situation. While the winger dreams of making a switch to Camp Nou, Barcelona’s current financial conditions have prevented them from taking any immediate action. Consequently, Estevão has begun to reassess his future options.According to reports, Mauricio Pochettino’s team, among others, is exerting pressure and showing a willingness to meet the youngster’s €60 million release clause. Palmeiras, the Brazilian club, is eager for Estevão, who recently made his first-team debut, to make a decision promptly.
Mundo Deportivo states that due to FIFA regulations, Estevão will not be able to move to Europe until he reaches the age of 18 in April 2025. Nevertheless, Palmeiras is eager to finalize the sale as soon as possible. The report further reveals that the teenager’s father visited Europe in October to gain firsthand knowledge of the sporting projects at various clubs interested in signing his son. Chelsea, along with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, was among the clubs he visited.
With Barcelona no longer in the picture, Estevão must now make a decision regarding his next destination, taking into consideration the options presented by the clubs his father met during their trip to Europe.
