Mason Greenwood’s permanent transfer from Getafe to Manchester United has been discussed, according to Getafe president Angel Torres.
Greenwооd’s time аt оld Trаffоrd ended аfter аn internаl prоbe, аnd he went оn lоаn tо the Lа Ligа teаm in the summer. The аllegаtiоns оf аttempted rаpe, cоntrоlling аnd cоercive behаviоr, аnd аssаult resulting in аctuаl bоdily hаrm аgаinst the striker were dismissed by the Crоwn Prоsecutiоn Service.
He is only expected to be on loan at Getafe until the end of the season, at which point United is anticipated to make an attempt to sell him. With Torres already in talks with the Red Devils, their chances of closing such a trade have increased.
“A few days ago, Manchester United and I had a video conference. We check in almost every month to see how he is doing. The boy is ecstatic. There he is now, in England. the family as well. They are aware that we would like him to stay for another year, and I believe we are headed in the right direction,” he remarked.
With Getafe in eighth place in La Liga and a strong push for European qualifying, Torres will have a busy January ahead of him. The Spanish team manager is also focusing on Ilaix Moriba and Oriol Romeu’s transfers.
“We have already been offered him as one of the players. He is known to the coach. Of course, if we come to an agreement. In order to complete the roster, we will first bolster the midfield and, if Moriba can be hired, add a winger,” the man stated.
“Again, nothing more. We also won’t lose our minds. Nothing is impossible in football. I’ve talked about Messi a lot. At sixteen, I was able to bring him. There are challenges in football, but they are not insurmountable.
“We are focusing on four or five extremely complex projects. We are holding out until tomorrow, or the day following the coach’s arrival and approval. If the coach concurs, one or two reinforcements will be sent in.”
Manager Jose Bordalas would undoubtedly be thrilled to see Greenwood come in. With five goals and four assists in 15 appearances, the striker’s performances have already been acknowledged by the Getafe manager.
Although Greenwood is a gifted player, skill is not the most important factor in football. More effort is required than talent. He has the qualifications to play in any major, but we won’t be able to determine his true ability until he is at 100%,” Bordalas stated.
“[He’s fit in the team because of] his patience and composure, knowing that he had been out of work for a while without participating in games and almost without training. However, we had faith in him due to his skill and experience.
Selecting a player of this caliber at Getafe is difficult, if not impossible. And, well, we’re betting on him in this case. We are pleased and joyful because we have an excellent player.
