Former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is expected to return to the EPL after half a season playing in Saudi Arabia

Roberto Firmino joined Al Ahli in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool expired. He had a perfect start in the Saudi Pro League after scoring a hat-trick in his debut match.

But the Brazilian has not scored since then, now in 18 matches. Firmino has suffered criticism from the Al Ahli fan community when the club is only third on the rankings, behind Al Hilal and Al Nassr. He also hasn’t started a match since October.

After 18 matches in the Al Ahli shirt, Firmino has a desire to leave and may leave the club during the winter transfer window. According to talkSPORT, Firmino feels disappointed with Al Ahli’s system. The club is also ready to loan him to another team in the new year.Sheffield is monitoring Firmino’s situation when coach Paul Heckingbottom was in charge last month. However, after he was sacked and Chris Wilder was appointed as his replacement, it remains unclear whether the Blades are still interested in a deal.

For his part, Firmino is ready to leave Saudi Arabia to return to Europe or his native Brazil. In addition, Firmino has received interest from Turkey, with other teams in Saudi Arabia such as Al Shabab, Al Ettifaq and Al Fateh all monitoring the 32-year-old striker’s situation.

Firmino scored 11 Premier League goals for Liverpool last season, providing four assists. He was part of a famous attack alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, helping Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League in 2019. During his time at Liverpool, the Brazilian star was Jurgen Klopp’s favorite player, always knowing how to shines at important moments.
