Kepa Arrizabalaga Finally Loses in Madrid Squad, Loan Chelsea Goalkeeper Officially Replaced by Andriy Lunin

Real Madrid goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, finally lost the competition to return to the starting XI in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has officially been replaced by his colleague, Andriy Lunin, who will now regularly be in the starting XI.

The goalkeeper on loan from Chelsea was initially brought in to replace Thibaut Courtois who suffered an ACL ιnjury.

However, Kepa Arrizabalaga actually suffered a muscle ιnjury and this allowed Andriy Lunin to show off.

Andriy Lunin immediately proved his ability with a clean sheet in the match against Cadiz which ended 3-0 at the end of last November.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper has now appeared in nine matches with a total of four clean sheets and conceded six times.

Meanwhile, the Spanish goalkeeper has appeared 15 times, conceding 12 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.

According to Marca, now Andriy Lunin has been chosen as the main goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga is scheduled to return to Chelsea in June 2024.
