Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige directly refuted reports that Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Iron Man role in an interview with Vanity Fair. Consequently, he declared that Marvel has no plans to undermine the significance of this character’s death in Avengers: Endgame.
“We’re going to keep that moment and not touch that again,” Kevin Feige said. “We both worked hard for years to get to that moment and we don’t want to magically Someone revive it.”
A lot of people have been agitated by persistent rumors that Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Iron Man. In addition, there are rumors that other characters like Captain America and Black Widow might make a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nevertheless, it appears that Marvel does not currently have plans to bring these characters back to life.
Actor Robert Downey Jr. had his breakthrough in the legendary role in 2008, although his poor reputation at the time—which included arrests for heroin, cocaine, and unloaded gun possession—almost kept him from the movie. Kevin Feige and director Jon Favreau, however, remained adamant about allowing the actor to play the superhero in spite of the criticism.
Robert gained a huge global fan following while playing Iron Man in nine Marvel films over an 11-year span.
