Lynda Carter looked very youthful on Thursday morning when she appeared on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in Australia.

The 72-year-old TV star — born Lynda Jean Cordova Carter — was one of the most glamorous actors of the 1970s with her hit series Wonder Woman.

She appeared via Zoom from Los Angeles and chatted with hosts Kylie Gillies and Matt Doran about her latest single and her past television career.

‘I think [Wonder Woman] was relatable. I think superheroes in many ways are not relatable,’ she said of her superhero role.

‘But because she didn’t wear a mask, you know, she was right there. It was about her kindness or goodness… It wasn’t really about the super power.’

She first appeared on screens as Wonder Woman almost five decades ago.

Lynda was crowned Miss USA in 1972 but had just $25 in the bank when she landed the part of Wonder Woman in 1975. She continued in the TV role until 1979.

The actress also appeared in the 2020 Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot in the title role.

The next year, Lynda suffered heartbreak when her husband of 37 years, businessman Robert Altman, died from complications after a medical procedure.

The actress, who is mother to children James, 34, and Jessica, 31, told how she cried ‘three times a day’ as she struggled to cope.

‘I feel that I need to pick myself up and dust myself off, and put one foot in front of the other and be as courageous as I can be, even when I don’t feel like it, to get past grief,’ she has said previously.

Her daughter Jessica has also been busy releasing new music.

The crooner has described the album as contemporary pop as well as folk pop.

Many of the new tunes touch on the heartbreaking loss of her businessman father Robert A Altman who died unexpectedly in 2021.

Lynda and Jessica have worked together in the past.

In 2020 they talked to  Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover.

The beautiful brunettes were glowing as they opened up about their close bond, with Jessica calling her mum ‘even more wonderful’ than her superhero alter-ego.

Jessica, Lynda’s daughter, and her have previously collaborated on projects. They spoke with Kit Hoover and Mario Lopez of Access Daily in 2020. observed in 2017

“Every day, she lives up to the character,” Access was told by singer and lawyer Jessica.

“I think the character is seen and believed by everyone as a strong female role model in their lives.” 

Regarding the humorous figure, she went on, “their moms, their girlfriends, their grandmothers, their aunts, and their sisters.”

Praise befitting her mother, Jessica continued, saying, “I just feel so fortunate that my mom is even more amazing than the character.”

“She instilled in me the values of bravery, strength, and the knowledge that I can pursue my goals without having to conform to the expectations of others,” she continued. “All I had to do was be myself.”

In the original 1970s television series, Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman.
