Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract with Manchester United has an option to be extended until 2025

United have decided to extend Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract by another year, and they intend to begin contract extension negotiations before the season ends.

The current deal for the former England under 21 defender was set to expire at season’s end, but according to Mail Sport, United have exercised an option to extend his stay at Old Trafford until summer of 2025.

United have shown they are prepared to offer Wan-Bissaka a new contract with better conditions, but he is still on the £90,000 per week salary he agreed upon when he joined from Crystal Palace five years ago.Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment was finalized, and the club decided to activate the 12-month extension last week, after initial contract talks were put on hold in September.

United’s handling of Wan-Bissaka is in stark contrast to their treatment of Raphael Varane, whose contract extension clause has not been activated and who will be available for a free transfer in the summer, as revealed last weekend by Mail Sport. The contract of Victor Lindelof has been extended until the end of next season, whereas Varane is being treated differently because to the fact that his weekly salary of £375,000 is considered excessive.

Even though Wan-Bissaka had a rough go of it last year under Erik Ten Hag, the Dutch coach has now grown to love his adaptability.United have used the 26-year-old in 15 games this season, with the exception of their last three starts.

Man United to trigger midfielder’s contract extension

Midway through the season, clubs can strengthen their rosters for the rest of the season, but they also have to figҺt to hold on to their best players.

After a disappointing season thus far, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are expected to be among the clubs eager to add to their present roster.

The Dutchman will be eager to strengthen his team for the upcoming second half of the season after suffering nine losses in the first twenty Premier League matches and being knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage.

There have been rumors that the Red Devils are also trying to lock down the future of one of their younger talents.According to Football Insider, the Manchester club is about to extend Hannibal Mejbri’s contract by 12 months.

The 20-year-old has made 12 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions since joining United’s junior setup in 2019 from French side Monaco.

Hannibal returned to Old Trafford at the beginning of the season and has since played 10 times for United. Last season, he spent the season on loan at Championship club Birmingham City, where he made 41 appearances.

If United want to keep Hannibal beyond the summer transfer market, they can trigger an extension before the current season ends.

Regardless, the report implies that United has not yet made a decision regarding allowing the player to move on loan within the current window.
