Information about Franz Beckenbauer’s dєath was sent by his family to Germany’s DPA news agency with the content: “We are extremely sad to announce that my husband and our father, Franz Beckenbauer, passed away peacefully in his sleep. .. We ask that you allow us to grieve in silence and not ask any questions.”

If Pele is called the “King of Football”, then Beckenbauer is called the “Emperor”, not only of German football, but also of world football. He is one of the greatest defenders in history, having played 582 matches for Bayern Munich and won Germany’s top league as both a player and a coach.

Beckenbauer won the 1974 World Cup with the West German team as captain. 16 years later he lifted the world’s most prestigious trophy again as a coach at the 1990 World Cup.

When he was still playing, he was loved by everyone and nicknamed “Der Kaiser” meaning emperor, because of his elegant playing style and great leadership ability. Not only winning the World Cup, Beckenbauer also won the European Championship in 1972 and won the Golden Ball title twice.

Bayern Munich Club expressed condolences for Beckenbauer’s passing: “The world of FC Bayern Munich is no longer the same – suddєnlч darker, quieter, poorer. Without Beckenbauer, Bayern would never have to become the great club it is today.”
