Manchester United great Paul Scholes leveled scathing remarks at Jesse Lingard

Manchester United great Paul Scholes leveled scathing remarks at Jesse Lingard, a former player and current free agent. Lingard has answered.

According to yesterday’s Peoples Person, Scholes scolded Lingard in a remark on an Instagram image where he showed himself working out at the gym.

The United great questioned the free agent, “Are you going to f-ck around in the gym or are you going to play football?”

Lingard decided not to further the situation between them by posting a sequence of happy faces in response to the now-deleted message.

Since last July, when his one-year deal with Nottingham Forest expired, Lingard has been without a club.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, another Premier League club, supposedly showed interest in signing Lingard shortly after Forest’s season ended, but no trade came through.

It was announced in September that Lingard had started training with West Ham United, the club he had been loaned to in 2021.

The 31-year-old Lingard will not be returning to the London Stadium as a result of the Hammers’ decision.

At that point, Steven Gerrard, manager of At-Ettifaq, extended an invitation to Lingard to join his club for training.

After passing on the opportunity to acquire the winger, the Saudi Pro League club maintained the vicious cycle.

Though Lingard supposedly got along with the club and scored in a friendly match, Al-Ettifaq were hesitant to pay his wage demands.

Everton, a team on Merseyside, was supposedly contemplating a transfer for Lingard last week, so attention shifted to them.

The outcome of Lingard’s transfer saga or his return to the Premier League in a blue jersey is still to be determined.

Man United consider move for ex-Stoke City striker

The team led by Erik ten Hag has had a rough season thus far, but they have managed to salvage some pride with a string of close wins.

The Red Devils are now in eighth place in the Premier League, nine points separating fourth-place Arsenal and fifth-place Spurs.

The current transfer window could be impacted by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority acquisition of United. Manchester United is rumоured to be looking to add a new striker to their roster, and an unexpecteԀ target has surfaced: a former Stoke City player.

United are reportedly looking to add striking depth to their roster and have Bayern Munich’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on their radar.

Despite the possibility that United may not add a new striker to Ten Hag’s roster before the transfer window ends, the report states that Choupo-Moting is one of their goals.

Reports indicate that the Manchester club is focusing on selling players this month, which might make it tough to bring in a forward until Anthony Martial, who is now unpopular, leaves.

Rasmus Hojlund, who United paid over £70 million to acquire from Atalanta in the summer of 2016, has had a difficult time adjusting to life in England and has managed just one Premier League goal thus far.

Former Stoke player Choupo-Moting transferred to Bayern from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and has since scored 38 goals in 107 outings for the German club in all competitions. He played for Stoke from 2017 to 2018.

The international from Cameroon scored nine goals in fifty-one appearances while playing in the French capital.

Since the Cameroonian’s deal with Bayern is up for renewal this summer, United may try to pounce on the opportunity to get him this month.

United have scored 22 Premier League goals so far this season, which is second-worst in the league after Burnley and Sheffield United. As a result, United needs attacking additions.
