Kieron Dyer has brought attention to a “red flag” that he saw with Jadon Sancho when they were together on the young team.
After an argument with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, Sancho’s demeanor has come under scrutiny this year. United benched the 23-year-old he had signed for £73 million in 2021 after he accused his manager of fabricating an excuse for his benching in early September.
In addition, Sancho’s chronic tardiness to training sessions during his tenure with United was recently brought to light by Sancho’s former teammate Nemanja Matic. The winger has been granted a second opportunity after successfully re-signing with Borussia Dortmund on loan till the season’s conclusion.
However, Dyer, a former England and Newcastle midfielder, was not taken aback by Sancho’s performance in the FA Youth Cup final when he was just 17 years old. Dyer reflected on the promising teen’s demise as a player after he failed to overcome his opponent, the current captain of Chelsea, Reece James.
He boasted about the wonderkid when he was younger on talkSPORT Drive. At the time, he was the academies’ talk of the town. As a coach, I watched Man City and thought he was unbeatable. He was sensational for the under-18s young team. Everyone wаnted him when he was about 17 years old because he would demolish every team he played on.
