When Robert Downey Jr. walked the red carpet at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, he looked quite sharp.
At the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the 58-year-old actor walked the red carpet alongside his producing partner Susan Downey and his wife of 19 years.
Following his huge victory at the Golden Globes, Downey won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Oppenheimer shortly after walking the red carpet.
As the Critics Choice winner, Downey Jr. defeated Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things), Ryan Gosling (Barbie), Charles Melton (May December), Robert De Niro (Killers of the Flower Moon), and Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction).

He began by congratulating Sterling K. Brown, another contender, saying, “I believe Bob, Ryan, Charles, and Mark will welcome Sterling K. to the mix.” There’s a new opponent in the octagon.
He went on, “This morning, I was thinking, I love critics.” All I can think about is the correlation of critics’ choices. He continued, “They really give me such beautiful feedback,” to applause from the assembly.
“So many wonderful moments, some of which I can describe as poetry.” –Poetic. I’d like to share with you a few of their reflections over the years. “The first one resembles a haiku,” he remarked.
“Lazy, unkempt, and careless.” The following one is symbolic, akin to Pee Wee Herman waking up from a coma. This one from a britt, a baffling waste of talent,’ he said as the crowd chuckled throughout.
‘And ultimately in this one, lingered, entertaining as a bed lock fart,’ he said, before acknowleding his ‘Oppenhomies.”
‘Yeah, I want to say to my homeys, daily of filming was like getting my ego’s given to me at the door,’ he stated.

He continued, ‘I was thinking this morning, I love critics It’s all I think about: critics choice of association. They give me such beautiful feedback, really,’ he said to laughter from the crowd
A finer guy couldn’t have experienced it. For that, I got to thank Chris, Emma and Cillian. Emily Blunt, my British sister. My co-star in the scene. I’m grateful, Universal,” he said.
I want to mention that I have a commentary going on the whole day. It’s like Siskel and Ebert. Susan Downey and my publicist. I’m hoping that this time they perform better. “I’ll get to know it,” he said.
After four nominations, Downey’s victory on Sunday was his first Critics Choice Award win.
He had previously received nominations for best supporting actor in Tropic Thunder in 2009 and for best actor in The Avengers in 2013 and Iron Man 3 in 2014.
The Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport hosted the 29th Critics Choice Awards on Sunday in Santa Monica, California.
They gave recognition to the best works in television shows and movies from 2023.
The vent is hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler and airs live on The CW on Sundays.
Barbie had the most nominations (18 total) among the film candidates this year.
The movie garnered multiple performance nominations, including Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling, Best Actress for America Ferrera, and Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Hair and Makeup nods for Margot Robbie.
