In their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco defeated Tanzania 3-0. Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder for Manchester United, played the entire match, including extra time.
Thirty minutes into the match, Romain Saiss, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, put Morocco ahead.
In the midst of the second half, Azzedine Ounahi scored a well constructed goal just beyond the penalty area to double the score.
The victory was completed and Morocco earned all three points at the Stade de San Pédro stadium in Ivory Coast thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri’s third goal of the match.
Amrabat, a standout for United, began with Selim Amallah in the center of the field.
Throughout his time on the field, Amrabat received 69 hits.
He had the best pass accuracy of any star player who played 45 minutes or more, completing 60 of 63 attempts for a whopping 95%.
The player on loan from Fiorentina tried to find his teammates with six long balls. They were all successful in reaching their goals.
Not only did Amrabat not dribble, he also did not try to shoot. Sitting deep and protecting the Moroccan defense from easy breaks was his main responsibility.
When it came to defense, the 27-year-old excelled. In seven ground duels, he emerged victorious four times.
He competed in and won a single aerial challenge.
Additionally, Amrabat produced three tackles.
