After his feud with Jadon Sancho, Erik ten Hag allegedly forced another Manchester United player to workout alone.
After a falling out over Anthony Martial’s performances at Carrington, the 28-year-old striker was sent off the first team four months ago. Sancho was also kicked off the same way.
The Daily Mail reports that Ten Hag has decided Martial deserves this penalty since he isn’t healthy enough after catching a vιrus last month. Before he can be reintegrated, the Red Devils leader wants him to be match fit.
When pressed further, Ten Hag would only remark that Martial wasn’t prepared to play a role in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford, the only time he addressed Martial’s long absence.
The Frenchman has been sidelined for five weeks now; his last appearance was in a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at home on December 9. He has missed seven games in all competitions due to the hectic holiday fixture schedule.
In addition, Martial will be a free agent in January, so there’s that. At season’s end, his contract will be up, thus foreign clubs can sign him to a pre-contract for the summer.
