Cristiano Ronaldo will be reunited with a former colleague as Al-Nassr ‘prepare bid for Man United star’

Cristiano Ronaldo will be reunited with a former colleague as Al-Nassr “prepare bid for Man United star” following the rejection of their £20 million offer for Tottenham’s Emerson Royal.

The Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr allegedly found a replacement for Emerson Royal after Tottenham turned down their £20 million offer for the Brazilian.

In their pursuit of a top-two finish this season, the Riyadh club is looking to strengthen their roster with new players this month.

The 25-year-old has had a bit-part season for Ange Postecoglou’s squad, but Al-Nassr, led by league leading scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, were unsuccessful in their pursuit of him.

That is why they are concentrating on signing another fullback, a move that would bring the captain back together with a former colleague from his time at Manchester United.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reportedly been scouted by European clubs, and Al-Nassr are ‘prepared to bid’ for the player.

His original contract at Old Trafford was due to expire in 2025, but United recently extended it by one year. United have shown they are prepared to offer Wan-Bissaka a new contract with improved terms; nevertheless, as reported earlier this month by Mail Sport, he is still on the £90,000-a-week salary he agreed upon when he joined from Crystal Palace five years ago.

After overcoming a hamstring ιnjury, the England U-21 international has played in 13 games for United this season.

He has started the last six games in all competitions for Erik ten Hag’s squad, including a 2-2 home draw with Spurs in which Royal came on as a substitute.

There have been rumors circulating for a few weeks about the right back potentially rejoining Michael Olise at Selhurst Park. Inter Milan has allegedly also made an approach for Wan-Bissaka.

If Wan-Bissaka wants to play for Al-Nassr in the playoffs, the club will have to de-register one of their foreign players. During the summer of 2017, the team acquired Sadio Mane, a former Liverpool star, and Aymeric Laporte, a former Man City defender.

On any given matchday, clubs in the division can register no more than eight players from outside Saudi Arabia.

Notable players signed with Al-Nassr include Otavio, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, David Ospina, and Alex Telles.
