Because of ‘unfinished business,’ Jose Mourinho is ‘keen on Man Utd return’

Jose Mourinho is allegedly considering a surprising comeback to Manchester United,

After a run of poor results, Roma fired the Portuguese manager earlier this month (January 16). The Italian club joined Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham in firing the ‘Special One’ for the fifth straight time.

The Daily Mail, however, reports that Mourinho is now eager to return to Old Trafford to lead United. Despite being fired in December 2018, the article states that Mourinho feels he has “unfinished business” at the club he took over in May 2016.

Relatives of the two-time Champions League winner allegedly told the media that he has “made it his mission” to return to his role as manager of Manchester United when the opportunity arises.

It has been reported that he is also pleased to collaborate with the new regime led by minority investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, who will assume control of the football operations.

He reportedly has a strong desire to return to United, according to a buddy. He has made it his mission to return since, following the last encounter, he thinks he has unresolved business there.

After United’s previous manager, Louis van Gaal, resigned due to the failure of his ideology, Mourinho was appointed manager. After departing Chelsea the year before, Mourinho—a three-time winner of the Premier League—made an immediate impression.

In his debut season, he won the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. The following year, he finished in second place in the Premier League. However, he was fired following a loss to Liverpool as tensions escalated between himself and the club’s power brokers due to his failure to secure many transfer objectives.

Even during his time at United, Mourinho had famed beefs with multiple Red Devils stars; last year, he said as much on John Obi Mikel’s podcast.

“When I sаy people, I meаn both players and non-players, who were still there when I told United after two months: with these people, you are never going to do it,” he announced. They remain in the same place.

From Mourinho’s first spell at United, just four players are still around. With Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw in the lineup.

With Erik ten Hag’s situation becoming more and more perilous, Mourinho’s dreams have been reignited. United are now in ninth place in the league and have been eliminated from the Champions League. Their last opportunity to win a trophy this season is through the FA Cup.

Mourinho has been with Roma since 2021, but even if Sir Jim fires Ten Hag, it doesn’t meаn he will be considered for the position. Even though he made it to the Europa League final and won the Europa Conference League in his debut season with Roma, they finished eighth in Serie A when he left.
