Man United star Lisandro Martinez will be out until April at the earliest

After suffering an ιnjury setback, Man United star Lisandro Martinez will be out until April at the earliest.

Following a terrible knee ιnjury sustained in Sunday’s 3-0 win against West Ham, the central defender hobbled off the field and made a beeline for the tunnel.Martinez, the Argentine star, appeared distraught on the Old Trafford pitch while waiting for treatment, but he persisted nevertheless. The prognosis didn’t appear good.

Following an evaluation, the Red Devils have verified the severity of Martinez’s ιnjury, ruling him out for a minimum of eight weeks.

“Lisandro Martinez is expected to be out of action for at least eight weeks after sustaining an ιnjury to the medial collateral ligament in his knee,” read a statement from Manchester United.

The Argentine defender came off the field in the 71st minute of Sunday’s 3-0 Old Trafford victory over West Ham United.

“May Licha’s recovery be swift, and may we all rejoice to see him play again later this season.”

The defender’s season has been incredibly trying due to his delayed comeback to action in January following a long-term foot ιnjury.

Martinez returned to action in the FA Cup third round match against Tottenham after missing 22 matches before that, but he now appears to be destined for a lengthy absence from the field.

Erik ten Hag revealed after West Ham’s game that: “It seems bad, we have to wait and make the right diagnosis.”We can only pray for now; we are terribly sad. I wish it is not too bad. Seems like he’ll miss a few games due to ιnjury once again.

United, who are in sixth place and aiming to storm into the top four before the season ends, will take a major Һit if Martinez leaves.
