For the better part of a year, nothing has been happening with the live-action Spider-Man series. There haven’t been many hints or details released regarding the return of Tom Holland’s beloved character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since two labor strikes in Hollywood halted any Spider-Man 4 progress. That might all change within a few hours, though.

On Monday afternoon, Holland posted a video of himself playing golf on Instagram. The text that appears over the video says that there will be a “big announcement” on Tuesday. This has fans wondering if official word on Spider-Man 4 will eventually surface.

Will Tom Holland make a comeback in Spider-Man 4?

Holland seems to be returning to his red and blue outfit for a brand-new adventure when Spider-Man 4 hits theaters, despite his initial reluctance.

“As long as we can honor Peter Parker, I believe. I’ll be there as long as we can continue to improve and elevate the movies and give them greater significance,” Holland told ET. “To claim that I wouldn’t be the luckiest child alive if I had the chance to do it again would be foolish. There are things going on, but we’ll just have to wait and observe.”

Holland did, however, once acknowledge that he would like to hand the reins over to someone actor to perform the part in the future.

“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,” Holland stated to Collider. It’s another matter entirely whether or not we can manage to give the character justice. I’m quite possessive of Spider-Man. I want to preserve his legacy because I consider it really fortunate that we were able to work on a franchise that improved and became more successful with each film. I hereby promise not to create another one just for the pleasure of doing so. It must be worthwhile for the character to invest their time in.”

Sony has not yet announced a release date for Spider-Man 4. While Spider-Man: No Way Home is available for purchase everywhere movies are distributed, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home are available for streaming onDisney+.
