But according to Real Madrid Exclusivo, a Spanish news source, via TEAMtalk, La Liga leaders Real Madrid are hoping to lure Rashford to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. According to the source, Los Blancos are thinking of trading Rashford for Takefuso Kubo and cash.

Currently, Kubo plays for Real Sociedad, but if Real Madrid steps up their pursuit of Rashford, they plan to exercise a €30 million (£25.5 million) buy-back clause in Kubo’s contract. The Japan international was sent out on loan four times before signing a permanent contract with Sociedad, having failed to make a single appearance for Los Blancos between 2019 and 2022.Since then, Kubo has grown into a standout player for Sociedad, contributing four assists and six goals in 27 games this season across all competitions. Kubo has been linked to Man United in the past, but it’s unclear if he would be open to moving to Old Trafford given that he recently extended his contract with Sociedad through June 2029. It is said that if Real Madrid wants to get Rashford, who is reportedly valued by Manchester United at over £120 million, they would still need to pay a large sum in addition to Kubo. This summer, Carlo Ancelotti’s team is rumored to be looking for a new attacker. Rashford, teammate Rasmus Hojlund, and Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly among their targets. Prior to the summer transfer window, Arsenal expressed interest in signing Rashford, who has made 388 appearances during his eight-year professional career at Manchester United, contributing with 128 goals and 74 assists. Other teams that have been connected to the striker include PSG and Barcelona.
