Superheroes and beauty queens share a lot of similarities. Whether they are representing Wakanda, Krypton, or Gotham City, they are intelligent, gifted, composed, and proud of their native countries. As noted by E!, it is therefore not surprising that actress Gal Gadot was formerly Miss Israel. Even while fans can’t wait to see Gadot kick ass on the big screen in Wonder Woman, she was previously dominating her rivals. When the 32-year-old was just 19 years old in 2004, he received the distinction. But when it came time to compete for Miss Universe, Gadot revealed to People that she was tired of the spotlight.

She remarked, “I wasn’t that kind of girl.” “I disobeyed. I arrived late. I was always late for everything. You have to wear gowns even at breakfast. I didn’t go to breakfast dressed in a gown. I stayed away from cosmetics.”

It’s true that the early 2000s weren’t the most fashionable decade. There were rhinestones and glitter all over every article of apparel. The trend was low-rise, acid-washed denim jeans with studs belts. Not to mention that frosted lips, thick makeup, and pencil-thin eyebrows were a need. Looking back at Gadot’s time as Miss Israel, her attire seemed to capture the spirit of the new millennium.

Marvel at what it was like to be Miss Israel in the early 2000s and take a trip down memory lane.
