Not’ about the money: Joey Votto says he turned down 1 opportunity during offseason

Joey Votto made an admission on Friday that makes it apparent he is still searching for a way to play in Major League Baseball in 2024.

During the summer, Votto stated he received a lot of interest from TV networks asking if he would be interested in working as a broadcaster. This was during an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show.” He did, however, make it apparent that playing is still his goal.

Votto acknowledged, “I’ve received ten times more analyst (offers) this offseason than I have from any baseball offers.”

Votto’s desire for a TV role makes sense, but he is obviously not ready to give up on his playing career. He has played for the Cincinnati Reds his entire career, but he is not needed there due to the team’s developing crop of prospects. Although the 40-year-old hit just.202 in 65 games the previous season, he can still draw walks and occasionally show off some power.
