For 2024, Joey Votto is still searching for a team, and two options have been mentioned as possible candidates.
The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels are two teams that ESPN’s Buster Olney mentioned as potential Votto suitors. He claimed that Votto is “dying to play” and that the Blue Jays, who feature a primarily right-handed lineup, would find value in him.
As his career comes to an end, it would be a beautiful homecoming for Votto to play in Toronto. They added Daniel Vogelbach to camp last month, so it’s uncertain if they have room on their roster for another DH-type player.
Votto is searching for a team and is determined to play in 2024. Votto had played first base for the Cincinnati Reds his whole career, but when his contract expired at the end of the previous year, the team decided to let him go.
