Ronaldo’s girlfriend reveals the dark side of fame
ACCORDING to Georgina Rodriguez, fame makes it impossible for her and Cristiano Ronaldo to go to the supermarket or take their children to school like many other couples.
When asked about the impact of fame on daily life, Georgina told Spanish daily El Mundo : “This is the thing I find most difficult, and most memorable with Ronaldo. For example, going shopping Shopping and going to the supermarket like many other couples. Sometimes I think we have many good things, but it’s hard not being able to go to the corner coffee shop, and always having to go to fancy restaurants so people don’t bother us. I can’t go to school to pick up my children. I lost many things that I had before. Ronaldo has long been no longer free like that.”
Georgina was born in the remote town of Jaca, in the Pyrenees (Argentina) and is the daughter of a convicted drug trafficker. In her teens, she went alone to Madrid. Her life turned around when she dated Ronaldo in November 2016, while working at the Gucci store in Madrid with a salary of 14 USD per hour.
Georgina will reveal a part of her childhood, along with hidden corners and new perspectives on life with Ronaldo in “I am Georgina” – a six-episode documentary produced by Netflix, and premiered on December 27. first.
On Instagram on January 15, the 27-year-old beauty posted a short video about the film, recording the scene standing outside a row of houses with many large graffiti – where she spent part of her childhood. In that scene, she said: “I dreamed of having a prince by my side, and I got it. Thanks to love, my life is now like a dream. The most important thing is that no I forgot where I came from. I understand the feeling of having nothing, and now I know what it is like to own everything.”
In October 2021, Ronaldo and Georgina announced that they were about to have twins, a boy and a girl. Before that, they had a daughter together, Alana (3 years old). The Man Utd striker also has three children of his own, Cristiano Jr (11 years old) and twins Eva and Mateo (4 years old), all by surrogate.
Last summer, Ronaldo said goodbye to Juventus to return to play for Man Utd. Georgina said that despite the cultural and weather differences, she and her family adapted quickly. “Changing cities was very easy and we didn’t even notice the change. We enjoy the same lifestyle, whether in Manchester, Turin or Madrid. The only difference is that the weather in Manchester is cold a little bit more, but I grew up in Jaca. So I don’t see many differences,” she said.
