Inside the new Range Rover SV has 1.6 million spec combos
There is no need for two Range Rover SVs to look alike in 2022 when there are a ton of luxurious options available.
This year, JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations will be releasing a new Range Rover SV, and the list of opulent, sophisticated, and, well, fancy-sounding options is rather lengthy.
The SVO department estimates that there are 1.6 million possible combinations of premium items to choose from, so there shouldn’t be any risk of embarrassing yourself at the local golf club with an identical automobile when you eventually run with another owner.
SVO’s portfolio is based on two design motifs, SV Serenity and SV Intrepid, which can be used separately or in combination with one another both inside and out. To make a long tale short, the latter offers “stealthier” style hints, while the former emphasizes luxury. Browse the pictures above to make your own decision.
The automobile differs from the normal model with an exclusive redesigned front bumper and a five-bar, metal-plated grille. There are also 14 more exterior color options. There is also SV’s Bespoke Match to Sample paint service, so the options are virtually limitless.
The gear shifter, volume controls, and Terrain Response are decorated with interior ceramic controls and surfaces, a first for the brand. To obtain a gloss or satin finish, these are made at 1,500 degrees Celsius and then polished with diamonds or blasted with sandpaper. This alone takes about 10 weeks, so it’s not a quick task either. Whoa.
In the meanwhile, purchasers who care about the environment can opt for sustainable leather that produces just 25% of the CO2 during production, or they can select to have hand-laid mosaic patterns throughout the wood veneer.
Managing director of SVO Michael van der Sande remarked, “We were able to add even more luxury into every part of the New Range Rover SV by working with the finest materials and innovative technologies.” “This new white ceramic SV roundel on the tailgate symbolizes the attention to detail and quality that is evident throughout the vehicle.”
Yes, that’s the roundel. The firm has opted to discontinue using the SVO nameplate going forward, and the Range Rover SV will be the first vehicle to sport the sleeker SV label.
The D350 straight-six diesel, the 523 bhp V8 twin-turbo petrol, and the 503 bhp plug-in hybrid are the available engines; the latter is limited to short-wheelbase models.
Early in the year, order books will open; prices are pending. However, the online configurator is operational and available for use right now. Here’s how to spend your first day back at work in a productive way…
