Caribbean queens reign supreme! Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have come together once again. The 33-year-old Fenty designer and the 38-year-old “Chun-Li” rapper, who collaborated on Rihanna’s 2010 track “Raining Men,” posed for a photo alongside Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, and their son, as well as Rihanna’s boyfriend, rapper A$AP Rocky.
Minaj shared a snapshot of the entire group from their gathering on her Instagram. In the photo, the two couples are seated side by side on a couch, with Minaj holding her son on her lap in the middle. Rihanna beams as she leans toward her boyfriend, with his arm affectionately around her.
In a subsequent social media post, the two entertainers, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, are seen posing for a video, experimenting with different camera angles. In the clip, Rihanna remarks, “Caribbean things, you know what I’m sayin’?”
Although it has been some time since their last musical collaboration, the two artists previously joined forces on the track “Fly” in 2011, featured on Nicki Minaj’s acclaimed album Pink Friday, following their collaboration on Rihanna’s “Raining Men” the year before.
In a Facebook post dating back to 2010, as reported by MTV News, Minaj expressed admiration for the “Fly” singer, labeling her as “one of my absolute faves.”
“I’ve been eager to collaborate with Rihanna for quite some time. I admire her achievements immensely, especially considering our shared island roots,” Minaj stated at the time, referencing her Trinidadian heritage and Rihanna’s Barbadian background.
“This song is about empowerment, particularly for women. However, its message extends beyond gender boundaries, encouraging individuals to rise above adversity and soar to new heights,” she elaborated.
