Tom Holland explains how Zendaya, his costar, assisted him in adjusting to life in the spotlight.

In a brand-new cover story for British GQ’s April issue, which goes on sale and can be downloaded digitally on March 4, Holland talked about his preparation for the upcoming Apple TV+ film Cherry and his adjustment to being famous after becoming Spider-Man. Zendaya, 24, a friend and former Disney Channel star, has been instrumental in the actor’s journey, he claimed.

“It’s really helped me a lot, talking to Zendaya,” the 24-year-old Holland added. “I used to come across as a bit of a d— to fans, mostly because I was constantly shocked when they asked for a signature, a picture, or anything else. “As a typical Londoner, my first thought would be, ‘Why are you talking to me?'”

“Zendaya spotted this and quickly told me that this sort of reaction was going to be more aggro than just smiling and taking the picture,” he said. “She totally changed the way I am able to be more comfortable in public.”

Holland also discussed rumors about his love life, emphasizing how “frustrating” it may be to watch relationships unfold in front of others.

For the next Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland and Zendaya have reunited, and the actress says it has been “fun” to be back on set.

“It’s so fun being back with them, especially as Zendaya and I are going through similar things in our career, having taken on more adult roles to now come back to Spider-Man,” he stated to British magazine GQ. “I am incredibly pleased of what she has achieved with Malcolm & Marie as well as Euphoria. For No Way Home, I believe we both had to make some new adjustments. I had to raise my voice a few notes, and we both had to resume our roles as these innocent, endearing teenagers.”
