Zendaya plays Rue in the show, a high school addict who juggles her sobriety with her relationships and friendships.

“I think it’s great to have that love and support around you, because you need that,” Zendaya said in response to an ET question about how Holland “pulls her out of the dark moments as Rue.”

“This isn’t an easy job, so it’s good to have that to free you up from it every now and then,” said Zendaya.

In an interview with GQ in November 2021, Holland made reference to the difficulties of dating in the spotlight.

“One of the downsides of our fаme is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” he told the publication.

The pair most recently went out to supper in New York City on April 17.
