“I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two,” the singer said in a candid new interview
In a rare and candid conversation, Rihanna spoke with Interview magazine about the beginnings of her relationship with A$AP Rocky, their current life as parents to two children, and their future together.
During the discussion with editor in chief Mel Ottenberg, the “Diamonds” singer described her union with Rocky as “the best thing that ever happened to us.” Despite being friends since 2012, their romantic connection didn’t blossom until 2019, with their love deepening during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their family expanded in May 2022 with the arrival of their first child, baby boy RZA, followed by the birth of their second son, Riot Rose, just over a year later in August 2023.
Reflecting on her relationship with Rocky, Rihanna shared, “I let God lead and just let go.” She acknowledged past struggles in relationships where she felt she couldn’t measure up, but with Rocky, she found someone who saw her for who she truly is and believed in her. This mutual understanding and support solidified their bond, with Rihanna expressing confidence in Rocky’s ability to be a great father.
When asked about their plans for expanding their family further, Rihanna’s response was simple yet profound: “As many as God wants me to have.” She expressed openness to the idea of having more children, emphasizing her willingness to embrace whatever blessings come their way, whether it be a girl or another boy.
