She’s a literal tennis ball … again! Challengers star Zendaya showed off her latest tennis-inspired look at the afterparty for the film’s Los Angeles premiere this week, where she met former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard.
Bouchard attended Tuesday’s L.A. premiere along with former world No. 1s Tracy Austin and Venus Williams, and posted a photo with the film’s leading lady to her social media channels afterwards. While Zendaya wore a Vera Wang gown on the red carpet ahead of the premiere, she changed into a custom piece by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti for the post-viewing party.
It once again channeled the “method dressing” that she and stylist Law Roach have been employing as a complement to her role in the film: The floor-length gown, colored a flourescent tennis ball-yellow, also featured an actual ball positioned at the bottom of the deep V-neck.
No matter the outfit, Bouchard was thrilled to meet the A-lister, dubbing her “the new tennis queen” in the photo she posted.

The meet-and-greet was the latest for the “Challengers” star with a member of the tennis world during the press tour for the film, which premieres in the U.S. on April 26.
Coco Gauff’s coach, Brad Gilbert, served as the tennis consultant for it, while Williams revealed that Zendaya (who previously admitted on the L.A. red carpet that she was hoping to run into her) found her at some point during the festivities.
But one star Zendaya hasn’t met yet is Gauff herself (even though she sent Gauff flowers after she won the US Open last year, thanks to getting her address from Gilbert). After learning that the actress confessed this wish on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere, Gauff responded from the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
Saying that she couldn’t wait to see the movie, Gauff also hailed Zendaya’s viral themed fashions, and issued an open invitation.

“I’m such a fan and you’re a huge inspiration for me,” Gauff said. “Maybe one day we can meet up and even get a little hit in.”
