Zendaya and Tom Holland Thrill Students at Oakland School with Surprise Visit for Hoopbus Event
The celebrity duo demonstrated their basketball skills during their visit to Zendaya’s hometown of Oakland, California. In a touching moment captured on Instagram by actor Elvin Rodriguez, Zendaya, 26, garnered cheers from students as she helped make a shot by tossing a basketball into the air, which Rodriguez caught and successfully threw into the net.
Meanwhile, Holland, 27, enjoyed a showcase of remarkable basketball skills by Harlem Globetrotters’ player Sam Diaz, who dazzled with various spins and maneuvers with the ball.
Moreover, Holland received a tutorial in basketball tricks from The Bachelorette alum Christon Staples, who exhibited how to spin a basketball on his finger before handing it over to Holland for a try.
During the visit, Zendaya addressed the students, expressing her excitement to see them and participate in basketball activities. She humorously added that she wouldn’t be joining in the basketball games herself to avoid the risk of twisting an ankle.
The school visit by Zendaya and Holland was in support of the Hoopbus initiative, alongside other organizations like Project Blackboard. The actress later posted a photo on her Instagram Story of Holland practicing dribbling skills in front of a school bus, tagging Hoopbus.
This visit coincided with Zendaya’s recent interview where she discussed managing her private life while being in the public eye, especially concerning her relationship with Holland. She stressed the significance of retaining control over what she decides to disclose while still embracing her authenticity.
