According to her representative, the founder of Fenty Beauty, who recently unveiled a new pink hairdo, unfortunately, couldn’t grace the 2024 Met Gala red carpet on May 6 due to falling ill with the flu, as confirmed to E! News.

Rihanna’s absence from this year’s event follows her memorable appearance at the Met Gala in 2023 alongside A$AP Rocky, with whom she shares two children, RZA, aged 23 months, and Riot, aged 8 months.

During the previous Met Gala, Rihanna, who was pregnant with their second son at the time, made a stunning statement on the red carpet with A$AP Rocky. Her attire paid homage to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, donning a white Valentino dress adorned with Chanel’s iconic Camellia flower motif, complete with an impressive train.

Although she couldn’t attend the 2024 Met Gala under the “Garden of Time” theme, Rihanna hinted that her outfit would have been unexpectedly remarkable.

“I’m coming in as an extra this year,” she exclusively told E! News in late April, adding that she was simply “coming for dinner.”

And as for why she planned to go for such a chill look this time around? “I’m a mom,” she added. “I don’t got time.”
