On Tuesday afternoon in New York City, A$AP Rocky took on fatherly responsibilities with his and partner Rihanna’s son RZA.
This occurrence followed their last-minute cancellation of their attendance at Monday’s Met Gala due to Rihanna’s reported flu illness, as noted by People magazine.
The 35-year-old rapper, known as Rakim Athelaston Mayers, appeared every bit the caring father while cradling his eldest son RZA, who is set to turn two on May 13.
A$AP and Rihanna, aged 36, are parents to two sons: RZA Athelaston Mayers and their younger child Riot Rose Mayers, who is nine months old.
On Tuesday, during their father-son outing, A$AP Rocky opted for a black and white Puma shirt paired with shorts, completing his look with matching socks and sneakers.
Meanwhile, RZA looked utterly charming in an ensemble featuring orange and cream checkered attire, complemented by blue shoes.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s romantic journey began in January 2020, transitioning from long-time friends to partners. They welcomed their first son, RZA, on May 13, 2022, followed by the birth of their second son, Riot, on August 1, 2023.
Their relationship has flourished ever since, with Rihanna and A$AP Rocky often seen together, supporting each other in their respective endeavors. Notably, Rihanna joined A$AP Rocky at his Puma pop-up event in Miami on Saturday, just two days before the Met Gala.
At the Miami event, Rihanna debuted a striking new hot pink hair color, sparking speculation that it would complement her Met Gala ensemble.
Following their time in Miami, Rihanna and the family traveled to New York City. According to a Page Six insider, a stylist for Rihanna was observed at the Carlyle Hotel, coordinating the security team responsible for transporting her jewels for the Met Gala event.
During a conversation with Extra on April 27, Rihanna discussed her planned attire for the upcoming Met Gala.
“I’m actually opting for something quite understated this year,” she mentioned to the outlet while attending a Fenty Beauty line event in LA. “Very minimalist… I believe it will depend on the direction my makeup and hairstyle take. We want to experiment with that, but I haven’t decided on anything concrete yet.”
She also mentioned that her outfit would be “fairly straightforward… compared to my previous ensembles.”
Known for her fashionably late arrivals at past Met Galas, Rihanna playfully mentioned in the interview that she will “definitely be there for dinner! Shout out to Anna Wintour.”
