Serena Williams has revealed her nighttime skincare routine to her 12 million followers, showcasing a regimen that rivals her intense training schedule on the tennis court.
The athlete, boasting an impressive 39 grand slam titles, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her intricate beauty routine as she prepared for bed, accompanied by a glass of Prosecco.
The 38-year-old, also a mother, was already clad in pink, animal print pajamas as she commenced “Serena’s Beauty Tips,” presenting with a fully made-up face and her hair neatly tied back in a bun.
“One of the toughest decisions I make before bedtime is choosing which mask to use,” she explained. “I have masks everywhere.”
Serena proceeded to showcase her extensive collection of face masks, revealing a multitude piled atop her bathroom counter. Among them were products from Dr. Jart and a Diamond Radiance mask from Knesko, priced at $16.
She then turned to display a drawer labeled ‘sheet masks,’ which was brimming with even more of these skincare products.
“I’m really passionate about beauty, like, really passionate,” she confessed before adding, “Anyone who wants to send me masks, feel free!”
After giving a brief tour of her bathroom, the tennis star began her nightly routine by removing her makeup. She used cloth makeup removers that were gifted to her by her mother, noting that she appreciates them because they prevent her other towels from getting stained.
“One product that I’ve really come to love is this AmorePacific,” Serena shared, holding up a bottle of the brand’s $50 Treatment Cleansing Oil Face & Eyes. “It’s really effective for removing makeup.”
“And of course, everyone knows I use retinol cream, but I won’t be using that tonight,” she added, displaying a jar of her preferred retinol, the Ayur Medic Retinol Cream, which retails for $72.
Next, Serena transitions to trying out a new $75 cleanser she’s eager to test from the popular skincare brand Dr. Barbara Sturm.
“I’m going to give the Enzyme Cleanser by Dr. Sturm a try tonight and see how it works,” she remarked.
Serena elaborated that she enjoys experimenting with different products rather than sticking to just one, describing herself as someone who likes to “trial products.” She then gave her followers a glimpse of the array of products lining her bathroom counter.
“Once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it for about a year or two,” she added.
The tennis star proceeded to share some of her current favorite products with her followers, including La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Cleanser, priced at $14.99, and the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea, retailing at $12.
Delving into her drawers, Serena revealed one of her all-time favorite products, the $190 MZ Skin Radiance and Renewal Instant Clarity Refining Mask, emphasizing that her most devoted followers “should know” how much she adores it.
Returning to her mirror, Serena prepared to apply her first mask of the evening, the Innisfree’s My Real Squeeze Manuka Honey Mask, valued at $1.80.
“After cleansing my skin, there’s nothing on my face, no filter, no nothing,” Serena stated as she continued her skincare routine. “I’m going to try this manuka honey mask that my friend brought me from Korea.”
“I was in cold weather, and manuka honey moisturizes your skin, so I wanted something that would provide a lot of moisture to it,” she explained.
After leaving the sheet mask on for 20 minutes and enjoying a glass of Prosecco, she massaged any remaining product into her skin and neck.
“After I’m done with my sheet mask, I massage it into my skin, and any leftover I apply to my neck and hands,” she said. “And then it’s time for serum.”
For serum, Serena opted to try another product from Dr. Barbara Sturm’s range, selecting the $350 Super Anti-Aging Serum, followed by the Biossance Squalane+ Phyto-Retinol Serum, priced at $72.
“So I’m trying this super anti-aging serum because maybe it will make me move faster and be younger on the court, so I’m going to try that, and I’m also trying this retinol serum,” she added.
