Tracker Greene pitched seven viable innings, Will Benson hit a two-run homerun and the Cincinnati Reds returned from a troublesome misfortune with a 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.

“In general, we knew eventually we planned to begin assembling things,” Benson said. “The beyond three days have been a demonstration of how all in all, all in all we’ve been buckling down each day.”

Benson homered off Slade Cecconi (1-3) in the fifth, and the Reds posted a couple of subbed in, run-scoring singles in the 6th for their second dominate in 13 matches.

Blast Alexander hit a two-run single for Arizona, which had six hits. The Diamondbacks had three baserunners after Alexander’s hit.

“Two or three things we could improve,” Diamondbacks administrator Torey Lovullo said. “We could back up bases better, we could hit cutoff men somewhat better — the seemingly insignificant details generally appear.”

Cecconi was sharp in his past beginning, permitting a run and three hits in 5 1/3 innings against Cincinnati last week.

The right-hander was hit hard in the second go-round against the Reds.

After Alexander’s two-run single in the third, Cincinnati tied it in the fourth on Jake Fraley’s fielder’s choice and Jeimer Candelario’s run-scoring single. Benson put the Reds ahead with his fifth homer, a two-run shot close to the pool deck in right-focus.

Cecconi was lifted with two on and two out in the 6th. Special hitters Santiago Espinal and Stuart Fairchild followed with run-scoring singles off Logan Allen.

Cecconi permitted six runs and seven hits.

“What I’ve seen in myself that requirements to change and will change pushing ahead is that when I end up getting hit is the point at which I end up attempting to put the ball,” Cecconi said. “I’ll generally attempt to take a mile each little while off to make a pitch and I’m discovering that can’t occur.”
