CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The Cincinnati Reds are soaring in Atlanta after their most memorable series win post top pick break.
Cincinnati bounced on the Atlanta Overcomes for four runs in the main inning in transit to a 9-4 triumph at Truist Park.
Elly De La Cruz threatened Overcomes pitching at the plate and on the base ways.
De La Cruz had three hits including a homer – and two additional taken bases. He pioneers the majors with 51 this season.
Spencer Steer had two copies a triple and three RBIs.
The Reds’ best-run maker this season, he drives the group with 64 RBIs.
The Overcomes and Reds were initially planned to play a day-night doubleheader on Wednesday. After Cincinnati took game one, game two was deferred because of nasty weather conditions. It was rescheduled for Sept. 9 in Atlanta. A beginning time for that game has not yet been reported.
The Reds have an off day on Thursday prior to going to Tampa Narrows on Friday for a three-game series with the Beams. Scratch Lodolo is probably planned to begin game one.
