‘Decision made’ – Arsenal surpass Spurs and Chelsea in a £50m transfer smackdown

If the winger were to depart Wolves for a Premier League adversary this summer, Pedro Neto, an Arsenal transfer target, has determined his preferred destination.

The 24-year-old’s favored destination, according to TEAMtalk, is the Gunners. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also mentioned as potential suitors for the Portugal international; however, they are unable to provide him with Champions League football, which could be the deciding factor in his decision.

It is believed that Wolves are eager to retain the athlete for the forthcoming season. The Midlands club has already lost critical player Max Kilman to rivals West Ham United, and any sale of Neto would be a significant blow. The player, who transferred to Wolves from Braga in 2019, managed to accumulate 11 assists and three goals in 24 appearances across all competitions last season, despite a hamstring injury that impeded his progress. Neto was able to regain his fitness and participate in each of Portugal’s three Group Stage matches at Euro 2024.Although Neto has three more years remaining on his contract at Molineux, it is believed that a bid of approximately £50 million could persuade Wolves to transfer their star attacker. According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal has engaged in “preliminary discussions” with Neto’s counsel this week, during which his preference for a transfer to the Emirates Stadium was disclosed.Neto would provide backup on the right flank for Bukayo Saka and augment the team’s options in light of the speculation that Emile Smith-Rowe and Reiss Nelson may be leaving.

Toward the conclusion of the previous season, O’Neil expressed uncertainty regarding the player’s future at Wolves, stating, “I am uncertain as to how he will react if or when a significant club extends an offer. Certainly, it can cause them to reconsider their decision. However, at this juncture, if we inform him that there are no offers forthcoming and that he will remain at Wolves for the upcoming season, he would be entirely content with that.”
