A terrible opening few minutes from Chelsea saw them caught out twice attempting to play out from the rear. Erling Haaland handed the Premier League champions a two-goal edge fairly early on in front of roughly 70,000 fans by scoring a quick-fire double.

That is how the score remained until the break, before Oscar Bobb and Haaland scored another fast couple of goals early in the second half, in what was Chelsea’s penultimate encounter of their pre-season tour of the United States. After Reheem Sterling returned, Noni Madueke halved the deficit for the game to finish 4-2. Bobby Vincent evaluates, out of 10, the second-half performances of the Blues players below.

Rodriguez Sanchez – He was doing well. Not much at blame for any one goal. 7.

Reece James: Not at all his greatest game. His defense was pretty poor. Five.

Though he found it somewhat difficult today, Tosin Adarabioyo looked rather good in the first three games. Four five.

Levi Colwill: Not near his best right now. Found it to be quite challenging. 5.

Malo Gusto – Sent it for City’s fourth objective. Errors. Bad error. Too lacking in passion. Four and five five five

Romeo Lavia struggled in the first half but made improvement throughout the second. Good help for Madueke. Seventh.

Enz Fernandez – not as powerful as in the first half. Subbed off with 60.5.5.

Kiernan Dewsbery-Hall: moved second-half back into the midfield. Improved and could get on the ball more regularly. 7.

Bright start upon arrival, noni madueke. Not too long after Man City’s fourth, produced an assist for Raheem Sterling. Then he executed his goal quite brilliantly late on. 8.

Rheem Sterling – On his left foot, he finishes wonderfully. After a remarkable pre-season, deserves that objective. Eight.

Christopher Nkunku: Usually a goal threat. The first game this pre-season he missed the back of the net. 6.

Replacing

Marc Guiu – immediate possibility for the Spanish person. Could improve. Five.5.

Benoit Badiashile performed rather well. 6.
