The best player in American football and sports history is Patrick Mahomes. After winning his third Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes—possibly the best player in sports right now—made the difference in the NFL Playoffs.

Mahomes had to start from a relatively low position to get to where he is. In high school, he was rated as a three-star prospect and did not make his Texas Tech debut right away. Mahomes wasn’t exactly the most polite and unproblematic person around during those years.

Randi Mahomes disclosed in a recent interview that she and her son had a lot of disagreements at that period.

 

Patrick and I used to argue in college—not that we fought, but I was the mom who insisted he see me as soon as he got in. I understand that my children don’t want to spend time with their parents, even though I still love them. ‘I’m delighted I was in your house,’ he would say. “You slept for three hours and then you left,” I say. You seemed to be sleeping. We eventually reached a point where I claimed that we wouldn’t dispute if you were in church on Sunday.

Randi then discussed a few characteristics that the two had in common: “He’s stubborn sometimes, like me.”

 

Certainly, it appears like many of those family issues are now behind us. Personally, Patrick seems to be doing well with his mother. Although Patrick and Brittany have their own family, he usually finds time for the rest of the family.
